Odissi, the most elegant form of
classical dance in India owes its origin from the Mahari dance. It evolved
over the ages through a rich tradition of Guru Sisya Parampara. This dance is
an essential part of the temple rituals of Sri Jagannath at Puri. The
Debadashi system as well as the creative spirit of the scluptors has eleveted
it to an aesthetic pedestal. The exquisite masnory of the Konark, Puri &
Bhubaneswar overwhelms the visitors. The style & posture of the images
carved out on stone, the Mudras of the Nata & Natees depicted on the
