Dhenkanal District It is called as Soul of Orissa because of its central location and representative character. The district was known for its hills, Serene environment of the dense forest and the picturesque river valleys and mountain peaks with ancient shrines. The celebration of Maha Laxmi Puja has earned a special name and fame across the country. Now this predominantly agro district has been constantly moving to be the bastion of industrialization.

 

          Kankadahad Block and Hindol Block with their  topography and tribal population have acquired different looks vis--vis other blocks. People of all castes, all classes, all tribes, all religions dwell in this Dhenkanal district. The great Mahima Dharma owes its origin to this District Primary, Secondary & Tertiary sectors have their predominant presence in this district.
