Dhenkanal District It is called as “Soul of Orissa” because of its central location and representative character. The district was known for its hills, Serene environment of the dense forest and the picturesque river valleys and mountain peaks with ancient shrines. The celebration of “Maha Laxmi Puja” has earned a special name and fame across the country. Now this predominantly agro district has been constantly moving to be the bastion of industrialization.
