EARLY CHILDOOD CARE EDUCATION :
The enrolment, retention and quality of girls Education are influenced by several socio-economic and cultural factors including the gender roles assigned to girls. Gender differences affects girls very early in life as their declining birth and survival rate attest in case than boys olds girls are assigned to care for younger siblings, especially in deprived families, as a result of which the older girls are deprived of going to schools and their fundamental right i.e. right to Education is obstructed. Keeping the above facts in mind the Government through Sarva Sikhya Abhiyan has introduced a programme namely ECCE (Early Childhood Care Education)
This programme is mainly to provide pre- School Education to the children of 3-5 years and to relief the older girls from sibling care. In Dhenkanal District 88 ECCE centres are functioning and food is being provided to this ECCE centres through ICDS department. Total 1610 children are enrolled in ECCE centres under SSA and NPEGEL schemes respectively.

VISION :
The vision of the District is to continue all ECCE centres and to relief the older girls from sibling care, to provide nutritional food to Pre- School children besides the above facts, the vision of the district is to make the ECCE Students talented and to through away the fear for going to School. To achieve the above vision the following activities will be undertaken in Dhenkanal District.
The ECCE Instructors are to be paid for their hard work and dedication for building the foundation of the Pre- School children. Contingency is also required for smooth functioning of ECCE centres. The honorarium will be paid to 88 ECCE Instructor.
For smooth functioning of ECCE centres, provision of food, proper supervision and monitoring of ECCE centres it is necessary to make convergence with ICDS department. The ICDS supervisors ,CDPOs,and BRCCs will attend the convergence meeting .
It is necessary to bring out the hidden talents of the children so that they will gain confidence and will be talented and that will lead them to be a better individual.Competition like running race, ball throw, fancy dress among the children will be organised .First, second and third child of each event will get the prize and they will receive the prize from the MTA President.To encourage the c hildren their parents will be invited.
To keep regular touch with ECCE centres and to know that activities under taken in each ECCE centres it is necessary to review the ECCE Instructors. In the review meeting the following things will be discussed:
No of children enrolled.
No of children promoted to class I
No of older girls engaged in sibling careenrolled in school.
Problems faced by ECCE Instructors implementing ECCE.
The main aim of Pre- School is to make the students enjoy coming to ECCE centres and this can only be possible if adequate play materials is present in the centre. This will gradually lead to decrease this fear for School.
For proper Implementation of Pre- School activities and capacity building of ECCE Instructors and AWWs it is necessary to impart them training on Pre-School Education. The training will be imparted by the trained ICDS Supervisors and trained AWWs. Total 1000 AWWs and ECCE Instructors will receive training on ARUNIMA module.
