1.DISTRICT LEVEL :-           District Information and Public Relation Office,

Dhenkanal. Similarly 30 Districts are functioning in

Odisha.

 

2. Year of Establishment :- 1950

 

3. District Office Establishment :-

 

                        This Office consists of 3 Sub-divisions i.e. Dhenkanal Sadar, Kamakhyanagar and Hindol. Three S.D.I & P.R.Os are working in the above Sub-divisions under the Administrative control of Sub-Collector.

4. Information Centre-cum-Reading Room :-

                        Four (4) Information Centre-cum-Reading Rooms are functioning in the Sub-Divisions i.e. Dhenkanal District Hqrs., Kamakhyanagar, Hindol and Bhuban. Necessary Books, Magazines daily Papers, T.V. and Radio set have been supplied to different Information Centers to educate and create awareness among the people.

 

DEPARTMENTAL ACTIVITIES :-

 

                        This Department is working as a liasioning channel of government and keeps good relation with Public as well as Govt. publishes the plans, programmes of the Govt.

                        Information and Public Relations Deptt. Is also publishing the monthly Journals Utkal Prasang and Odisha review. Articles, Features, Development stories as well as different information's of the Govt. are published in the Journals and are being sold to the people by the help of departmental staff. Specially at Exhibition, Mela, Mahostav and functions at the rate of rs. 5/- each. 

                        D.I & P.R.O and S.I.P.R.Os extend co-operation to the Media persons by giving press notes, inviting them to different functions. D.I. & P.R.O and S.I. P.R.Os looks after the publicity of V.I.P and V.V.I.Ps as well as District Collector by arranging P.A system and extending news to the Media persons. Different developmental Film shows are being screened by 16mm Projector in different villages and functions. Group discussion on the development activities of the Govt. are being organized by I&PR Officers to create awareness among the people of grass root level towards the policies of Govt. Folk dance, Palla, Daskathia are being organized specially during the village festivals.

            Exhibitions taking photographs of different development Scheme of the Govt. are also being organized at District and Sub_Divisional level. Special celebrations like Independence Day, Republic Day, Odisha Day, Gandhi Jayanti, Birth and Death Anniversary of eminent persons are also being celebrated by D.I. & P.R.O and S.I. P.R.Os at District and Sub-Divisional level.
